In an attempt to keep my phone out of my bedroom and reduce my screentime, I’ve been searching for the perfect alarm clock. I think I finally found it. Here’s what I like about Nanu’s Arc Alarm Clock and how I justified the cost (also, here’s the Wirecutter review if you’re interested):
You don’t have to use an app to operate it.
It doesn’t glow all the time. You can push a button to see the time in the dark.
It has a real mechanical chime that isn’t annoying and gets louder until you turn off the alarm.
It features silent clock movement (in other words, it doesn’t make noise, which is important because I’m a light sleeper).
It’s analog, but when you set the time or the alarm, a digital display pops up for accuracy.
